Community Cafe - The Cozy Cafe is an extrememly important part of the service we provide for local people here at SVCV.  Without the support of volunteers we simply couldn't provide this service.  Therefore we are always looking for people to join our Cafe volunteering team to make sure that the Cafe continues to grow.  The kind of person who would find this volunteer opportunity interesting are likely to be the kind of person who like dealing with the public and enjoy a kitchen environment.  Ideally you would be able to volunteer for two hours per week (or more if can) as every little helps.

Volunteer HANDYMAN / WOMAN - This role includes general repairs and maintenance, small amounts of painting and decorating, general tidying up.  To join our team of volunteers who look after the physical aspects of the centre you do not need your own tools as everything is provided.

Volunteer GARDENNER - We are always looking for help and would welcome anyone who has a keen interest in gardening to help look after the grounds.  Basic gardenning skills are required to simply maintain a clean and tidy exterior.

Volunteer Entertainments group member - Our entertainments group are responsible for developing the centre's entertainment programme which includes the annual community carnival, fairs, and various events throughout the year. We are keen to widen out activities and are always looking for new people to bring new ideas and help to plan and develop them to suit the needs of the community.

At SVCV we understand that volunteers are the most important members of our team, therefore we ensure that when you volunteer with us you will get the support, training and experience you need to perform your volunteer role.  Additionally all of our volunteers have a named person for which they can go to for advice and assistance.

All of our volunteers after a set period of time will qualify for employer references and testimonials.

Our experience is that volunteers here are able to meet new people, get experience, try new things and gain a real sense that they have made a difference.

2019 saw our 'Senior Drama Group' celebrate 50 years of Panto!  The end of Panto week saw the cast and crew enjoy a social night at the Guidepost with a buffet and presentation.  The night was enjoyed by all and a huge thanks to the staff at the Guidepost for their hospitality and Annie Bain for the fantastic birthday cake..
