Our Cozy Cafe is now open 5-8pm every Thursday!
SVCV is a lively community hub offering something for everyone, regardless of age or ability. From fitness classes to arts and crafts, our inclusive space fosters social connections and personal growth. Check out our website for details on all our activities!
Since the mid-1960s, SVCV has been a bustling center hosting various groups and activities. Originally established as the Springwell Village Hall Association in July 1965, it evolved over the years. In 2009, a new constitution was adopted, and the name changed to Springwell Village Community Venue, reflecting its broader role in the community.
Situated at the heart of Springwell Village, a historic mining community, the venue is owned by Sunderland City Council, with a lease signed in 2007. Recent renovations, funded by grants from sources like The Strategic Initiatives Budget, Biffa Award, and Asda Foundation, have transformed the building into a modern, user-friendly space, ensuring its continued relevance for years to come.
We offer a range of rooms for private hire, including a main hall with a stage for performances, a training room, community room, and dressing room. Whether it's for activities, children's parties, training sessions, or functions, our welcoming atmosphere and versatile spaces cater to various needs. Our community room even features a café, and convenient parking is available at the front of the building.
Chill out in our cozy café! Open from 10am to 2pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, we're here to provide a relaxing space along with tasty hot and cold food and drinks.
We have delivered some fantastic projects and wish to thank all of our funders for their much needed support as these projects would simply not happen without their support THANK YOU !
